Permits are required in most cities in order to build an in-ground swimming pool. That said, most homes outside of city limits are in many cases, not required to have a permit to build. There is always a fee associated with filing for a permit.
We have extensive experience working with cities to secure permitting and begin construction. When we pull permits, we typically request an Electrical Permit and a Final Approval Permit. In most cases, it takes approximately 1 week to secure a permit. We submit designs and plans, along with elevations and terrain information. We include set-backs and Septic systems as well.
Home Owner's Associations (HOA's) require application for approval of in-ground pool construction, in addition to the City Permit requirements. They typically receive the same information as the City, but sometimes request additional information to ensure consistency of materials is being used to construct the system. We provide the information to the clients and they send packet to the HOA. HOA officials will respond to the Home Owner only. In some cases, HOA's require a fee to apply for pool approval.
